Still alive and kicking...
Hello All
Yeh, I know its been more than a week than my last update. To be honest, it feels like its been a month. Alot of stuff happening here than can make you laugh, cry, tear your hair out, depress you and make you beg for somebody to ijnect you with sleeping syrum so you can wake up on 6 February when you get those papaers of Freedom signed.
There's some good news and bad news and some really messed up news...especially for those who are planning to do army thing in the next year or so.
Good News
I am no longer responsible for the sorting of sleeping bags. No more sitting on cold stone trying to get soggy sleeping bags to dry out when there's no %^&$# sun! PLus I dont have to spend any more time with a dude that has the iq of scooby doo. I have been put to work in the offices on the computer typing out odd letters for the officers who dont know where the ENTER button is. I am also being put to work in the kitchen, cleaning up etc. The reason its good is cause its less sitting around and time goes by alot faster when you're keeping busy.
Bad News
If the Turks invaded Greece...it woulndt be a war...it would be 5 minutes of negotiations where the Greeks would allow the Turks to take everything....just leave the Frappe Coffee! Oh my goodness people, I have never seen so much consumption of Frappe and so much sitting around.
To top it all off, the bureacracy is driving me insane. Getting even the smallest amount of paper work done is a MISSION. Correspondence is horrible. I figured the reason for the paper work being so slow is coz every 5 min these people go for refills of Frappe. In 1 hour 10 coffees went out to 7 people in the office. A big WTF! What makes things worse is that we have verious version of Meryl Streeps running around who throw tantrums when things are too complicated to handle like reading more than 1 page of some document. Two weeks ago I applied for permission to fly to Cyprus and spend Christmas there. I'm using my off hours(adia) we get. The reply still hasnt come back and whats worse they keep asking me when do I want to go. I shit you not. Think of the movie, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Now think of those big fat ugly dudes that do all the paperwork...remember the bureacracy there?. Ok...times that by...eternity. Big malakia! And then people here omplain about being poor when they work from 9am to 2.30pm. Remember the frappe breaks in between!
Another reason we're gonna lose battles against the Turks is coz insteased of actually doing excercises and training when the plattons go to the bundus with their backpacks and tents...they fill a truck with a fringe, boxes of croissants, a NOVA( DS TV) Decoder and a satelite dish to catch all the channels including the porno ones. So imagine them getting attacked by turks...they gonna be throwing croissants at the Turks! Hope they added pork in there....
Good News
Life got more intersting as I have been given guard duties. Thanx to those who keep me company with their sms's during these incredibly boring hours. I appreciate it. For those who DONT REPLY to a simple greetings from me...Sta arxidia mou! Santa aint bringin you any goodies this year!
More Good News...
They got pool tables here! Aaah....now I miss Lizzards.
General News...
I am working on a link on this page that will connect you to my poetry. Yes I write poetry. Believe it or not.
News for Future Fandari...
Now...for those of you who want to do the army in Greece and get it over and done with. Make sure you do 3 months only. Why? Coz in total honesty, Army is a big waste of time if you do it 6 months. Its NOT like the movies and NO you dont go doing hectic shit like Rambo. Its a whole lot of sitting around...shouting diatakste and saying malista to people who are completely vain. The only thing you learn here...is patience. You also make good buddies if you a good person and dont cause shit. But like I said, for those who are doing the army thing soon. Be Ready for..A whole lot of sitting around and watching that clock tick. All the fandari here sleep so much cause its the best way to pass time.
So ya...thats that.
Have a fantastic Weekend!
Adios & Hamba Kahle!
